The black flag rises again

Three towering masts break the horizon as weathered sails catch the wind and a dark silhouette closes in on your display. The ship combines a high-sided hull with brown decks, golden ornamentation and an imposing battery of cannons. From the sweeping bow to the lavish stern gallery, every detail suggests a battle-worn flagship sailing in search of treasure and revenge. Railings, lanterns, windows and dense rigging give the three-master depth from every viewing angle. Several pirate figures can be positioned across the main deck, beside the guns or at the wheel. The result is an open-ended adventure scene where you can create your own tales of treasure hunts, pursuits and storm-lashed voyages.

The build starts with a reinforced foundation before the curved hull, layered decks and tall superstructure rise section by section. Greebling, sideways building techniques and numerous decorative elements add texture while preserving the vessel’s strong overall lines. Removable sections of the deck and superstructure reveal a furnished captain’s cabin and selected interior spaces filled with barrels, crates and furniture. Rotating cannons, opening doors and hatches, a movable wheel and an anchor chain invite closer interaction with the completed model. The three masts, yards, sails and multi-layered rigging form the final stage, rewarding patience with a dramatic square-rigged profile.

With 3,066 pieces and a length of roughly 87 centimetres, this is a substantial project designed for experienced builders aged fourteen and over. The robust hull gives the large model a dependable base, while the masts, sails and ornaments create its intricate display presence. Several pirate figures equipped with hats, weapons and nautical accessories bring the decks to life, although their exact number is not reliably documented. Twelve stickered elements add flags, emblems and selected decorations, with most of the visual texture created through the brick-built design itself. Allow close to a metre of display width so the stern gallery, gun rows and elaborate rigging can be appreciated properly.
