Twilight Motel.

Where the neon comes alive

The highway stretches behind you, dusk settles over the road, and a familiar motel sign finally glows ahead. This sprawling roadside stop captures the nostalgia of an American road trip with warm windows, palm trees, a forecourt and a traveller’s car waiting outside. Its two-storey architecture recalls those cinematic places where different stories cross for a single night before moving on at sunrise. In a dimly lit room, the integrated lighting turns the model into an evocative scene poised between wanderlust and a welcome rest. Exterior lamps, guest-room windows and the prominent rooftop sign illuminate distinct parts of the building. The result is a slice of highway culture that tells a story whether displayed on its own or placed within a larger street scene.

Built from 1,970 pieces, the motel grows into an approximately 47 cm wide model with a developed interior and its own spacious forecourt. The reception area, guest rooms, stairways and small furnishings ensure that the experience extends far beyond the façade. During construction, 22 individual light points and several LED strips are routed through walls, roof sections and outdoor features. Opening doors and the movable car introduce interactive details, while the vehicle’s working headlights create a separate pool of light. More than 30 printed elements give the signs, room numbers and decorative surfaces a crisp, lasting finish.

This involved project is aimed primarily at adult builders, architecture enthusiasts and anyone who enjoys displaying illuminated models. Its broad, low silhouette stands apart from conventional townhouses and convincingly captures the character of an American highway motel. An included traveller figure and the car give you an immediate starting point for your own roadside stories. Once the lights are switched on, the building becomes a striking centrepiece for a shelf, cabinet or city diorama. The motel lighting runs on AA batteries, while coin cells power the car’s headlights.

Building artistry with light and atmosphere

Lumibricks offers a building experience with a difference: creative design paired with atmospheric lighting. The sets are made specifically for adult building brick fans who want not only to build their creations, but also to display them in style.

Every model stands out with lovingly crafted details, thoughtful design and integrated LED lighting that creates a distinctive mood – whether it is a cosy home, a mysterious library or an industrial-inspired fantasy world. The focus is on expressive display pieces designed less for play and more for exploring, admiring and showcasing.

Lumibricks is therefore perfect for anyone who wants to unwind while building, create worlds of their own and use light and bricks to striking effect – as an eye-catching piece on a shelf or a conversation starter in the study.

Good to know: The brand was renamed from Funwhole to Lumibricks in 2025. During the transition, products may still appear under either name – but everything else remains as you know it: high-quality sets full of atmosphere and character.
