About the set · COBI 2998

Nieuport 17 C.1 110 HP (Polish).

A fighter writes history

Bring one of the First World War’s best-known fighters to your building table. The French Nieuport 17 combined a lightweight airframe with impressive agility and served with several Allied air forces. This particular version carries Polish national markings, recalling the formative years of Polish military aviation. Its distinctive sesquiplane layout, with a smaller lower wing, V-shaped struts and an open cockpit, gives the aircraft an instantly recognisable profile. The 110 hp engine referenced in the set name also places the model firmly within the rapid development of wartime fighter aircraft. Built from 274 pieces, it becomes more than a compact aircraft model—it is a tangible chapter of aviation history.

The 1:32 scale leaves enough room to capture the rounded engine cowling, slender tail and delicate-looking wing structure. The build moves between solid fuselage sections and broad wings supported by exposed struts. A rotating propeller and rolling landing gear add movement without compromising the model-like proportions. Printed markings present the Polish version cleanly while preserving the aircraft’s crisp lines.

This set is particularly well suited to adult collectors, aviation enthusiasts and history fans looking for a manageable model with a clearly documented subject. Its compact format works equally well as a standalone display or alongside other aircraft from COBI’s Great War range. On the shelf, the Polish insignia, open pilot position and unusual wing proportions immediately attract attention. You get a display model that brings engineering development and historical memory together in a remarkably small space.

Building with history, technology and character

COBI is the largest building brick manufacturer in Central and Eastern Europe. Based in Poland, it has a clear mission: to create high-quality building sets that combine a passion for technology, historical learning and creative play. Every set is made exclusively in the EU using rigorously tested materials.

COBI specialises in collector’s models with character: military history models, modern classics at 1:35 scale, licensed vehicles and aircraft, as well as interactive technology sets. The extensive Historical Collection is especially popular, featuring faithfully detailed tanks, aircraft, ships and vehicles from the First and Second World Wars. Moving parts, durable prints instead of stickers and authentic scales make these models a highlight for collectors and grown-up builders.

Everything is manufactured at COBI’s own factory in Mielec, Poland, using materials of European origin, in accordance with strict EU regulations and with continuous quality testing, including inspections by TÜV Rheinland. COBI also works with renowned brands such as Jeep®, Škoda®, Maserati®, Boeing® and Dassault Aviation, as well as Wargaming.net (World of Tanks and World of Warships). Thanks to the included statistics cards, many sets can even be used as compact strategy games.

COBI is therefore aimed not only at children, but also at adults, technology enthusiasts, history fans and model builders. If you are looking for something special beyond the familiar brands, you will find it here: robust quality, fascinating themes, authentic scales and durable prints, all developed and manufactured in Europe.
