Fokker Dr.1 Red Baron.
An aviation icon in scarlet
Build one of the most recognisable aircraft of the First World War and bring a striking chapter of early aviation into your collection. This model recreates Manfred von Richthofen’s Fokker Dr.I at 1:32 scale, complete with its unmistakable red colour scheme. Three stacked wings, a narrow fuselage and the distinctive tail capture the historic triplane silhouette at a glance. Printed insignia and additional markings give the aircraft an appropriately period-inspired appearance. The Red Baron figure fits inside the open cockpit, while his German shepherd Moritz adds a personal touch to the airfield scene. Together, the aircraft and figures turn a compact display model into a vivid snapshot of early military aviation.
The 221-piece build starts with the fuselage and a fitted cockpit featuring a seat, control stick and suggested instrumentation. From there, the signature wing assembly rises one level at a time, rewarding careful alignment across all three planes. The landing gear, engine section, propeller and tail introduce varied details as the aircraft takes shape. You can spin the propeller by hand, and the free-running wheels allow the finished model to roll across a smooth surface. Every insignia, cockpit graphic and uniform detail is printed directly onto the elements.
Measuring 18 cm long, 22.5 cm across the wings and 9 cm high, the triplane fits comfortably on a desk, shelf or inside a 1:32-scale display. Its clean profile and intense red finish give it considerable presence despite the compact footprint. Historical aircraft collectors get a distinctive centrepiece, while older builders can also enjoy scene-based play with the propeller, landing gear and accessible cockpit. The printed Manfred von Richthofen figure and Moritz dog figure complete the ensemble for an evocative airfield diorama.
