Volkswagen T2b Bus.

Seventies freedom on four wheels

With its bright orange bodywork, this compact bus brings the easy-going mood of a summer road trip straight to your shelf. The officially licensed model captures the distinctive shape of the Volkswagen T2b that became a familiar sight between 1972 and 1979. Broad windows, a gently rounded front, prominent bumpers and the unmistakable minibus profile make the historic vehicle instantly recognisable. This is not a machine defined by speed, but by campsites, festivals, family holidays and unhurried miles on open roads. As the model takes shape, you build a small piece of an era in which the journey mattered just as much as the destination.

The 145-piece build is pleasantly approachable without becoming a simple hollow shell. Traditional stacked construction is combined with sideways-facing elements to create the smooth panels and characteristic contours of the body. Inside, a straightforward cabin with seats, a driving position and a steering wheel remains visible through the large windows. Rolling wheels and opening doors give the finished model an engaging, hands-on dimension.

Built at 1:35 scale, the bus reaches roughly 14 centimetres in length and fits easily on a desk, shelf or alongside other collectible vehicles. Its warm colour scheme and printed brand details make it particularly appealing to Volkswagen enthusiasts and fans of classic motoring. Younger builders get an accessible vehicle project, while adult collectors can enjoy a space-saving tribute to a Seventies icon. Even without figures, the silhouette, visible cabin and movable features give the model a story of its own.

About the manufacturer

COBI.

Building with history, technology and character

COBI is the largest building brick manufacturer in Central and Eastern Europe. Based in Poland, it has a clear mission: to create high-quality building sets that combine a passion for technology, historical learning and creative play. Every set is made exclusively in the EU using rigorously tested materials.

COBI specialises in collector’s models with character: military history models, modern classics at 1:35 scale, licensed vehicles and aircraft, as well as interactive technology sets. The extensive Historical Collection is especially popular, featuring faithfully detailed tanks, aircraft, ships and vehicles from the First and Second World Wars. Moving parts, durable prints instead of stickers and authentic scales make these models a highlight for collectors and grown-up builders.

Everything is manufactured at COBI’s own factory in Mielec, Poland, using materials of European origin, in accordance with strict EU regulations and with continuous quality testing, including inspections by TÜV Rheinland. COBI also works with renowned brands such as Jeep®, Škoda®, Maserati®, Boeing® and Dassault Aviation, as well as Wargaming.net (World of Tanks and World of Warships). Thanks to the included statistics cards, many sets can even be used as compact strategy games.

COBI is therefore aimed not only at children, but also at adults, technology enthusiasts, history fans and model builders. If you are looking for something special beyond the familiar brands, you will find it here: robust quality, fascinating themes, authentic scales and durable prints, all developed and manufactured in Europe.
