Where the forge glows after dark

Behind dark timber framing and weathered stonework, a medieval workshop comes alive. Warm LEDs shine through the windows while the forge burns with the appearance of glowing fire. Tools, an anvil and a workbench suggest that the blacksmith’s day is far from over. Furnished living and storage spaces above continue the story beyond the workshop floor. Projecting sections, varied roof angles and steep gables give the building the irregular character of an old craftsmen’s lane. Once the room darkens, the entire scene takes on the inviting glow of a village settling into the evening.

The 1,595-piece build rises to around 33 cm and combines a compact footprint with a fully developed interior. Layered stonework, timber details, roof shingles and small architectural accents keep the construction varied from base to chimney. Removable roof sections reveal the forge, benches, shelving, tools and domestic areas inside. Working doors, windows and shutters make it easy to reposition characters and accessories after the build is complete. Routing the lighting cables calls for patience, but it adds an engaging technical layer and connects the finished model to the included battery box.

This atmospheric medieval building is aimed at experienced builders and adult collectors who enjoy architecture with a strong sense of place. Four medieval figures populate the workshop and living quarters as craftspeople, customers and villagers. Sixteen printed elements add lasting detail to signs, surfaces and decorative features. The accessible interior supports small storytelling scenes while also making the model a natural centrepiece for a larger medieval display. It looks richly textured in daylight, then transforms into a warm evening scene when the windows, lanterns and forge light up.
