Stealth engineering takes flight

Dark grey surfaces, razor-edged geometry and an unmistakable profile bring the cool precision of modern military aviation to your building table. Its real-world counterpart is the STOVL variant of the F-35, engineered for short take-offs and vertical landings. At 1:48 scale, the model captures the pointed nose, helmet-shaped canopy, side intakes and trapezoidal wings with convincing proportions. Printed insignia, maintenance markings and cockpit details add depth across the subdued exterior. The 610-piece build measures 32.5 cm long with a 21.5 cm wingspan, giving it a strong presence without taking over your desk or display cabinet. It strikes an appealing balance between aircraft accuracy and a clearly recognisable brick-built character.

The build begins around a reinforced fuselage core before the wings, tail fins and angled outer panels establish the distinctive stealth geometry. Traditional studs-up construction is joined by carefully placed sideways connections around the intakes and the transitions between fuselage and wings. The canopy opens to reveal a seat, instrument detail and space for the included pilot. Retractable landing gear lets you switch between a grounded display and an in-flight pose, while movable upper fuselage doors reference the aircraft’s STOVL system. Distinct construction stages keep the experience varied and moderately challenging without relying on lengthy repetition.

A separate display stand holds the jet at a dynamic angle and includes a printed identification plaque. You can also deploy the landing gear and present the aircraft ready for take-off. The pilot figure fits inside the cockpit and comes with both a flight helmet and a hairpiece for scenes beside the aircraft. This makes the set a natural choice for experienced younger builders as well as adult collectors of military aircraft and aviation technology. Once complete, it combines a serious display presence with enough functional detail for occasional hands-on staging.
