A desert legend takes flight

Across a sand-coloured combat zone, an unmistakable swing-wing aircraft cuts through the sky: this model recreates the specific RAF Tornado known as the “MiG Eater”. Its desert camouflage, British insignia and distinctive nose art place the aircraft firmly in the Gulf War era. Rather than building a generic military jet, you are recreating a documented aircraft with a character and operational story of its own. The long nose, side-mounted air intakes and twin exhausts capture the Tornado’s characteristic profile. External tanks and weaponry beneath the wings complete its mission-ready appearance. The 527-piece build produces a 36 cm long Tornado at 1:48 scale, with a substantial fuselage assembled in carefully layered sections. Its functional swing-wing mechanism forms the technical heart of the build, allowing you to position the wings for take-off, landing or high-speed flight. The landing gear can also be adjusted, while the canopy opens to give the crew access to the cockpit. Printed cockpit details, camouflage panels, identification markings and maintenance stencils create a richly finished surface without applied decorations.
