Patton M48.

Cold War armour in miniature

This model brings one of America’s defining post-war tanks into your collection. Introduced during the 1950s, the M48 became closely associated with the early Cold War and served with the United States and numerous allied nations. COBI captures its rounded hull, prominent turret and long gun barrel in a deliberately compact brick-built format. The restrained military colour scheme reinforces the purposeful appearance of the original vehicle. Despite its small footprint, the finished build remains immediately recognisable as a member of the Patton family. Its 1:72 scale makes it particularly well suited to space-saving vehicle line-ups and military dioramas.

The 127-piece build begins with the compact hull and its suggested track sections before moving upwards to the turret. Plates, slopes and curved elements compress the tank’s distinctive profile into a small model. The turret can be rotated, while the gun barrel can be adjusted to create different display poses. There is no developed interior at this scale, keeping the focus firmly on the exterior shape, proportions and recognisable details. The construction is approachable, although the smaller assemblies still reward careful alignment and precise placement.

The Patton M48 is aimed at military history enthusiasts, collectors of small-scale vehicles and older builders who enjoy technical subjects. Once completed, the nano tank fits neatly on a desk, inside a compact display case or alongside other COBI vehicles. No figures or animals are included, allowing the vehicle itself to remain the centre of attention. Whether you choose it as a short evening build or as part of a broader Cold War collection, it combines an accessible project with a clearly identifiable historical subject.

About the manufacturer

COBI.

Building with history, technology and character

COBI is the largest building brick manufacturer in Central and Eastern Europe. Based in Poland, it has a clear mission: to create high-quality building sets that combine a passion for technology, historical learning and creative play. Every set is made exclusively in the EU using rigorously tested materials.

COBI specialises in collector’s models with character: military history models, modern classics at 1:35 scale, licensed vehicles and aircraft, as well as interactive technology sets. The extensive Historical Collection is especially popular, featuring faithfully detailed tanks, aircraft, ships and vehicles from the First and Second World Wars. Moving parts, durable prints instead of stickers and authentic scales make these models a highlight for collectors and grown-up builders.

Everything is manufactured at COBI’s own factory in Mielec, Poland, using materials of European origin, in accordance with strict EU regulations and with continuous quality testing, including inspections by TÜV Rheinland. COBI also works with renowned brands such as Jeep®, Škoda®, Maserati®, Boeing® and Dassault Aviation, as well as Wargaming.net (World of Tanks and World of Warships). Thanks to the included statistics cards, many sets can even be used as compact strategy games.

COBI is therefore aimed not only at children, but also at adults, technology enthusiasts, history fans and model builders. If you are looking for something special beyond the familiar brands, you will find it here: robust quality, fascinating themes, authentic scales and durable prints, all developed and manufactured in Europe.
