About the set · COBI 20078

Roman legionnaires’ tent.

Life at the legion’s camp

After a long march, a Roman legionary returns to camp, sets down his shield and prepares for the next stage of the campaign. This compact diorama captures a quiet moment in army life rather than the spectacle of a battlefield or monumental architecture. Earthy colours, sloping tent panels and a small camp base create a convincing scene from the ancient world. Inside, a simple sleeping area and storage space suggest how a soldier might have kept his personal equipment close at hand. Combine the tent with other Imperium Romanum modules to build your own expanding Roman encampment.

The 198-piece build forms a 22 × 18 × 11 cm model in 1:35 scale. Traditionally stacked walls, angled roof elements and visible supports shape the recognisable outline of a Roman field tent. Removable roof sections reveal the playable interior and make it easy to position the figure and equipment. Printed decorations on the legionary and shield add historically inspired detail to the scene. The clear, approachable construction makes for a relaxed first build while remaining useful to experienced diorama builders as a modular component.

A poseable Roman legionary equipped with helmet, shield and weapons is included for scenes inside or around the tent. On its own, the model works as a compact play scene and a characterful display piece. Collectors can also use it as a repeatable accommodation module within a larger historical camp layout. The printed instructions and accessible construction make it a rewarding shared project for families with an interest in ancient Rome.

About the manufacturer

COBI.

Building with history, technology and character

COBI is the largest building brick manufacturer in Central and Eastern Europe. Based in Poland, it has a clear mission: to create high-quality building sets that combine a passion for technology, historical learning and creative play. Every set is made exclusively in the EU using rigorously tested materials.

COBI specialises in collector’s models with character: military history models, modern classics at 1:35 scale, licensed vehicles and aircraft, as well as interactive technology sets. The extensive Historical Collection is especially popular, featuring faithfully detailed tanks, aircraft, ships and vehicles from the First and Second World Wars. Moving parts, durable prints instead of stickers and authentic scales make these models a highlight for collectors and grown-up builders.

Everything is manufactured at COBI’s own factory in Mielec, Poland, using materials of European origin, in accordance with strict EU regulations and with continuous quality testing, including inspections by TÜV Rheinland. COBI also works with renowned brands such as Jeep®, Škoda®, Maserati®, Boeing® and Dassault Aviation, as well as Wargaming.net (World of Tanks and World of Warships). Thanks to the included statistics cards, many sets can even be used as compact strategy games.

COBI is therefore aimed not only at children, but also at adults, technology enthusiasts, history fans and model builders. If you are looking for something special beyond the familiar brands, you will find it here: robust quality, fascinating themes, authentic scales and durable prints, all developed and manufactured in Europe.
